Cage Warriors 96 takes place on 1 September in Liverpool and will welcome the return of Nicolas Dalby.
The former Cage Warriors welterweight champion, Dalby (14-3-1) takes on undefeated Italian Roberto Allegretti (6-0) at 170lbs.
Dalby is riding a three fight losing streak stretching back to 2016. He departed the UFC in September that year and returned to the cage at Cage Warriors 93 against Carlo Pedersoli, shipping a split decision loss.
The Rumble Sports welterweight will be looking to get back to winning ways but has a tough fight on his hands.
A debut for Tim Barnett
It would be hard to bring another solid fight card to Liverpool without having Tim Barnett (5-1) on board.
The former BAMMA lightweight champion makes his Cage Warriors debut, stepping up to welterweight. He’ll face Supremacy Fight Academy’s Matthew Bonner.
Barnett claimed the BAMMA lightweight title with a buzzer stoppage of Rhys McKee in February 2017. He made his first defense against Mario Saeed, again taking a good first round finish at BAMMA 29.
A scheduled bout against Richie Smullen (after one of the fights of the year against McKee) never transpired so Barnett and McKee went at it again.
This time, McKee reclaimed his title with a first round stoppage at BAMMA 34 this past March.
The show is headlined by a battle for the Cage Warriors lightweight title, as Liverpool’s former Cage Warriors featherweight champ Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett takes on Norway’s ‘True Viking’ Soren Bak for the vacant 155lb world title.
Cage Warriors 96 takes place at the Echo Arena, Liverpool, on Saturday 1 September.
