Ottman Azaitar is the only Moroccan fight on this weekend’s Brave 14 card in Tangier.
With that in mind, he’s braced for a tough contest in the night’s main event.
The current Brave Combat Federation lightweight champion is moving up to welterweight for a clash with Serbia’s Danijel Kokora (16-14) who has been looking sharp in pre-fight training footage.
Putting your undefeated record on the line, on home soil, is no mean feat.
Returning from injury
It’s a relatively short notice fight for Kokora with Azaitar only cleared to return to the cage in recent weeks. With his participation assured, the Moroccan lightweight sensation was elevated to the main event for this Saturday’s outing.
‘The Bulldozer’ claimed the Brave lightweight title with a third round stoppage of Alejandro Martinez at Brave 9 in November last year. He’s yet to be stopped since turning pro in 2014.
Kokora saw a four-fight win streak – including three wins in a month – snapped earlier this year with a first round loss to Jaroslav Poborsky at GCF 44 in May.
12 of Kokora’s 16 professional wins have come by way of submission, so we won’t be surprised to see this one go to the ground.
Ottman is younger brother of Abu Azaitar who finally got to make his UFC debut with a decision win over Vitor Miranda at UFC FN134 this past July.
