Undefeated as a featherweight under Bellator, James Gallagher will face Ricky Bandejas this August in his bantamweight debut at Bellator 204.

The news was confirmed to on Wednesday with the ‘Strabanimal’ following up himself on social media on Thursday.

“I’m gonna fold all these little Bellator Bantamweights. Satarting in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, August 17th. Once I’m done there, I’m heading straight for Darrion Caldwell and taking that belt”, wrote Gallagher on Instagram

Gallagher (7-0) hasn’t been back in the cage since his first round dismantling of Chinzo Machida last June. Likewise, Machida hasn’t seen the inside of a cage since that defeat.

Injuries over the past 12 months ruled the SBG man out of Bellator 187 in Dublin, similarly with Bellator 196.

Former CFFC Bantamweight champion, Bandejas (10-1) will be making his Bellator debut this August and with a winning pedigree within both fighters, it should be a real interesting contest.

It’s the first outing to South Dakota for Bellator this August. Current Bantamweight champion Darrion Caldwell (12-1) steps up to 145 to face Noad Lahat (12-3) in a non-title bout.

Undefeated Logan Storley takes on AJ Matthews (9-7) in the night’s co-main event.
