Brazil’s Felipe Efrain has his sights on one thing only – the Brave Combat Federation Bantamweight title.
Unfortunately for him, at least for now, it’s held by Stephen Loman, who made a successful defense in Belfast this past June.
Efrain (12-3, 1NC) has been in the title picture before but a KO loss to Frans Mlambo – which teed up the Mlambo/Loman rematch – put paid to that.
Now, confident that he’ll get past Arnold Quero (15-6) at Brave 14 (see the fight card here) and get the title shot he craves.
“I didn’t think that fight was any good, to be honest”, says Efrain of Mlambo’s unanimous decision loss to the champion at Belfast’s SSE Arena.
“Now I don’t think about a rematch against Mlambo. I want to beat Quero and get my title shot against Loman.”
“Then I’ll think about the rematch against Mlambo later.”
Efrain brings big hitting power to Brave, having picked up their Knockout of The Year award for his 2017 effort against Nawras Abzakh. His own Muay Thai and BJJ game should make for great rounds with Quero.
Brave 14 takes place in Tangier, Morocco, on Saturday 18 August 2018. We’ll have more fight previews and coverage in the buildup to their first event on African soil.
