Unveiled at BAMMA 30 in Dublin a few weeks ago, undefeated heavyweight Chi Lewis-Parry has an opponent for his BAMMA 31 debut this September.
Step forward, Maurice ‘The Gorilla’ Jackson.
The two will contest the Lonsdale Heavyweight strap in the main event of the night with Chi surely looking to keep the Lonsdale title on UK soil.
The 36-year-old American (3-2, 3NC) is certainly a height match for ‘Chopper’, towering in at 6’9 and hasn’t fought since in MMA since March 2016, then shipping a first round submission to Eric ‘The American Soldier’ Prindle (11-9, 1NC).
It’s been three years since Lewis-Parry last stepping in the cage and he brings with him at 6-0 record, most recently picking up a first round TKO win over Alain Ngalani at ONE FC 18: War of Dragons. Here’s a look at his last MMA outing.
Whatever happens, if Lewis-Parry gets on top with those elbows, there could be trouble on the cards for Jackson.
BAMMA 31 takes place at The SSE Arena, Wembley, London on Friday 15 September. Nab tickets and details at bitly.com/BAMMA31
