With Brave 16 announced for Abu Dhabi, Bubba Jenkins is on board and chasing featherweight gold.
Former NCAA Division 1 champion for Arizona State University, Bubba Jenkins (12-4) signed a multi-fight contract deal with Brave Combat Federation. Jenkins was in the corner for countryman Zach Zane’s Brave 13 bout against Decky Dalton in Belfast this past June.
The Highlight Kid, 30, is booked to face French champion Elias Boudegzdame (15-4) on 21 September.
Jenkins went 8-3 under Bellator, before going 1-1 for ACB. His latest bout, above, wrapped with a third round TKO over Brazilian featherweight Diego Marlon (27-11).
The title fight is being touted as a showcase bout between a submission specialist in Boudegzdame and an elite wrestler in Jenkins. Elias also lands into the bout on the back of a six fight win streak.
Elias was crowned Brave featherweight champion at Brave 4 in March 2017 with a first round triangle choke over Masio Fullen. He had been due to face Lucas Martins last November, but made his first title defence this past March at Brave 10, again picking up the win with a triangle choke early in the fourth.
Jenkins have never lost a fight by way of decision in his career while Elias had conceded two knockouts and two decision losses in his career.
Brave Combat Federation had expanded its featherweight division with latest signings including Jeremy, Kennedy, Marat Magomedov, Danyel Pilo and Gabriel Fly.
It seems, the future of the featherweight division in the promotion depends much on the outcome of the championship title defence.
