Bahrain-based Brave Combat Federation are continuing their roster expansion in the bantamweight division with the signing of JP Buys to a multi-fight deal.

Buys (5-2) claimed the vacant EFC Bantamweight title at EFC Worldwide 69 in April of this year.

The 22-year-old South African prospect trains out of Fight Fit Militia with Richard Quan.

His arrival follows that of Jeremy Kennedy and Louie Sanoudakis in recent days.

JP Buys: A Multiple Time Champion

Buys had won multiple titles for wrestling including the African Wrestling Title, 12th Place at Wrestling World Championship and MMA Fight Stars Bantamweight Championship.

The 22-year-old was int he corner for countryman Chad Hanekom at Brave 13: European Evolution in Belfast earlier this month. Hanekom picked up an first-round kimura submission over late replacement Dominic McConnell.

According to reports, that was the catalyst for Buys looking at Brave for his immediate future. There he will join the likes of Hanekom, Jeremy Smith and SBG Ireland’s Frans Mlambo.

With Stephen Loman having successfully defended his Bantamweight title at Brave 13, two or three good fights should land him firmly on Loman’s radar.
